The current freeware content catalogue contains pretty much everything to form the most common trains you see on our tracks, but what about the more specific and obscure wagons? In the past, one of the locations to get those for Trainz was the website trainworks.eu, but since trainworks needs to make room on their webspace, we are happy to host their Trainz downloads from now on.
Additionally, we reached an agreement with the author Topae who made most of the content for trainworks allowing us to modify and update his rolling stock. We are thus happy to welcome obscurities like the Zagkks gas car, the Apm observation car or the Lails transporters from operators in Germany and its neighbouring countries on Trainz.DE and later, the Trainz Downloadstation.
Besides the old versions of the vehicles we want to offer updated versions that have been ensured to work flawlessly in TRS19 and been fitted with additional features where applicable. The first package will consist of some vehicles that have never been uploaded to the DLS previously and will be available to multiplayer games for the first time. We thank yuz6099 for his help in creating the first set up updated wagons as well as Topae for the permission to do that.
We hope to not only keep older content alive but also improve the process of finding freeware downloads by creating one central German filebase.
The downloads will soon be available here and we will send out a notice when they have arrived on the DLS, but we can't make any ETAs as to when the process will be finished because much like the integration of the filebase entries from the old TrainzDepot.net website, this is a slow and manual process for us.

Ich bin mit Trainz aufgewachsen, mein allererstes mal gefahren bin ich wohl schon mit 5 auf Trainz 2004, schnell gings weiter zu Trainz 2007. Als kleiner Fatz war ich damit natürlich recht lange zufrieden und kam erst wieder so wirklich zu Trainz, als es PTP2 im Angebot gab und ich schon 12 war. Während es an Material der großen Eisenbahn dort zu Genüge gab, fehlte mir als Stadtkind immer der schnelle Personennahverkehr mit Tram und U-Bahn, und bis auf wirklich Steinzeitliche Sachen gab es dafür überhaupt keinen Sim. Aus dieser "Not" herraus baute ich anderthalb Jahre an Tramburg in PTP2, einer Fantasiestadt mit vielen Straßenbahnen wo ich viele wichtige Erfahrungen mit dem Editor sammelte.
Seit 2016 bin ich auch Teil der Trainzcommunity in Deutschland, zuerst auf TrainzDepot.net und jetzt hier auf Trainz.DE.
Ich entwickle für mich selbst und andere alle möglichen Inhalte, bei denen ich nicht zu einem 3D-Modellingprogramm greifen muss.
