Central Europe MP Route Project

  • For Switzerland I can add and create some assets if needed.

The Type N Signal System isn't abandoned and a catenary System for Switzerland is planned as well.

I can do smaller stuff like props for the train stations as well if needed.

But you are right, one step at a time.

I'm looking forward to the project and if I'm able to help someday I'd be very proud

  • @Richard, just as a little addition to your last comment, maybe this will be useful for you: I fought long and hard battles with my colleague who is the author of some 16x/36x thyristor electric locomotives for TRS and his aversion towards DLS, but in the end I only managed to modernize, equip the new script, add a full set of available dependencies and publish only 2 of my reskins (they are fully available on DLS). It's not much... and they have poor sounds... but they are "ready to go" as we speak. This was also accompanied by the first fully available EP09, all as part of a bug-forced, total modernization of locomotive scripts and transferring them to a script library... which was accompanied by the addition of a large number of new ones, ~700 models in total... including a bunch of new ET21s, ET22s and 751s, a few 122s and a lot of 181/182/183s (everything is already on the DLS).

Once again, good luck with your work and cheers.

    Hi kilanziom,
despite my known needs for PBR and details, I would like to ask You a one thing. Would it be possible for You to implement seasonality to Your assets as well as libraries? TANE already has support for it (I recommend checking toxa_batoxa greenery assets, they are all available at the DLS).
Libraries would make Your work more organized and would allow updating the assets in bulk by just uploading a newer version of said library. That's something my TH, FH and many other packs rely on and haven't caused problematic situations during 5 years. It affects performance in a positive way as well because all the necessary textures are within one big pack instead of being seperately sorted.
It may cost a pack to be in size of many MBs but the result is often seen in the game - assets with libraries tend to load up faster than the ones that have their texture and mesh files included in them. That's what we've been struggling with when it comes to Your tenements - they often have tons of small texture files but still cause lags when in huge quantities.
    Take that into consideration. :)

  • I am a big supporter of Este in all concepts for historic sessions. More videos and pictures please!

Heh. Glad to hear that :)

Per your request, we've published a whopping 6 movies just now! (They'd been made earlier, just not published yet.)

Do note though, that we make these movies only made to draw attention to our Super Sessions. You can install and run our Super Sessions yourself! For free! Run them for days! :) Even screen-record them to make and publish your own movies! :)

Regarding time periods: I agree with your sentiments. 'Older' setting are more varied and thus per definition more interesting. In fact, I see no point in re-creating the world of today in Trainz. If you someone wants to see today's world, they can just go outside, right? :) Having said that, I do understand that there are practical hurdles in creating routes/trains representing older time periods (it seems harder to find proper documentation, for instance).

Finally, thank you kilanziom for your efforts to continuously provide the community with your lovely locos and wagons! They are being put to good use as we speak. You will see them in action in our next Super Session…

Thank you for the videos and magnificent work on sessions - it's a pleasure to see it all brought to life as part of a broader traffic. I'd say we share quite some similarities on views regarding the advantages of Trainz as a sort of railway time machine ;]

Speaking of future sessions, I'd encourage you to review the DLS from recent months about the huge script update on all locomotives and adding them to a script library. I'm sorry for this mess, but an error was detected on the previous scripts in shunting mode and it required correction of almost all locomotives (implementing a library), described in a wider context in the EET thread at the N3V forum, post #376:

In addition, as a discrete supporter of your Central Europe project, I would like to mention that since approximately summer 2025 I've been trying to clean up, update and send to the DLS all freight cars withing my reach together with all depenancies, which generally ended up as a success and therefore there's several dozen more freight cars (both historical and contemporary) to be used without limits now (eg. qcyk85, vicia_007, kalashnikov456, lookseek and myself). It is also worth to mention that most PKP steam locomotives had undergone several corrections and are now smoking again (previously there was an error that did not display smoke in T:ANE and higher versions - as in your video with the TKt48 steamer). At the moment, most steam locomotives of the Pt47, Pm2, Pm3, TKt48 and Ty2 series are already "corrected" and fully available on DLS, and the smoke should display as follows:

@Richard, if you'll find a moment, I'd sure encourage you to share some final effects at Nové Zámky and Šurany stations, from previous screens and movies they were looking mighty pleasing. I've spent many hours there, many times, lots of good memories (and even a couple of models - rolling stock only though).

The ŽSR 150 route of mine is right now on a shelf, as CEM is taking my full focus again. But when I am done with CEM, I would love to finish the 150 route. I have managed to obtain all the materials to make the route a 1:1 recreation, and I have friends who travel this line often. I also like this line (and the stations of Šurany and Nové Zámky), as my parents have started their railway career in these places, and they are locations I travel through to visit other family members. So I am quite familiar with these stations.

But, ŽSR150 being a much newer route than CEM, I have utilised a different building method, that I want to use when reworking Slovakia on CEM, and the methods I used to build Germany. Also seeing as Hojné Údolie is going to host a line south towards Hungary, it will be quite fitting to take more inspiration from Nové Zámky specifically.

  • Germany has been shunted off to TheBrandtK for catenary work. My job now continues in Czechia, making preparations to connect it with Germany and Austria. Here is some early work. I will slowly reveal more information as work progresses.

    And a little extra.

Thanks for pointing there. Read it.

After some testing, I've found that the signals on the Slovak section of the original Central Europe Mini route that our Super Session runs on, still do not work after installing this latest signal script library, when running it under anything newer than TRS22 SP2. Did you ever test that? Possibly that's a known issue that can't be fixed? I don't know. But I thought I'd mention it. (Note that Eagle once told me that way back when he created the route he had some sort of problem with these signals. It seems possible that, at the time, in trying to get the signals to work, some change was made that the new script library doesn't know about.) I've recently started toying with TrainzScript myself, but I haven't looked into the details of this specific signal script library. So I've no idea atm what the actual issue might be.

As to your new loco script: awesome! I love that they are now able to flip their pantos upon changing direction! I wish more authors would bother to implement such details. Makes the experience so much more fun. (Suggestion: if you'd make that the default option, locos that are spawned from portals would also reliably use the correct panto.)

I noticed a tiny bug: some loco have their cabs numbered incorrectly. On one side, cabs are numbered "1" and "2", on the other side, they say "2" and "1" :) Probably simply the result of mirroring the model and forgetting to adjust for this detail.

Btw: I'd love to talk more about any and all of this, but I absolutely detest communicating through Web forums. The Web was never designed for this. Thus Web forums suck. So, while I may occasionally post here, for actual communication I suggest you go to our Web site and grab my email address: https://HereComeTheTrainzes.com/contact/

  • The reason as to why the signals might not work properly is because of the way they were initially set up in Slovakia. I know I did a reivsion later, but I am not sure if I got all the signals. But generally this does not matter as much anymore, as we have new CZSK signals in works with a new, simpler script that Mika has developed, and we would like to make new Polish signals in the futre as well.

  • Slovak_Eagle Please don't forget to make also the AUSTRIAN signals. Prefere the older version. The older signals are not many types, they have the additional info "old" in the kuid names from autor "michael-h". If you can make only the RIGHT MOUNT VERSIONS from the trak, the parts will also 50% lower. ONLY THE RIGHT version AND "old" versions (maybe only 10 or 12 parts) but it will help a lot.:)

Alle ÖBB Lichttsignale_ohne Funktion mit PGUY Steuerung.cdp .....Inside this cdp archive file are all AUSTRIAN lightsignals, older version, new version, left and right versions.

    Nice regards

    Christian

PS: This picture shows the very important ÖBB "older" version ....and the newer version side by side. The speed info signal is not so important, i'm also very happy without this speed signal. 90% from the signals have not this max. speed information in the middle.

The older version is important, because you can drive everything ( steam, diesel, electric locos ) with this version, because some places ÖBB using the older version very long time.

  • Please don't forget to make also the AUSTRIAN signals.

We have enough to work on with the 4 countries we currently have on the Central Europe Mini route. Austria as its been on the larger older Central Europe route is currently not our focus. Our resources for content creation may be powerful but as everyone does it in their free time, ultimately limited, so new assets and models we create are bound to what we need to make our route look good :)

As for new signals: implementing them script-side isn't hard. It's never been. But you could read about our plans for a (long overdue) revision of the signalling systems of the 4 countries we currently work on for a while, but we haven't shown a single screenshot of a new signal in action yet. Thats because the models are still taking their time alongside all the other kinds of models we create for our project. Even if we would tag on making new Austrian signal models to the end of our current modelling schedule, they probably wouldn't be finished this year.

Please stop requesting us to make models for Austrian signals for you. I'm happy to implement Austrian signal aspects into my script - as I said that is not hard - but I do not have and I do not know someone who has the ability to make the models necessary for it! Maybe you can find a freelance 3D artist willing to make game-ready models in exchange for money, but the Central Europe Team offers no such service.

  • Yeah unfortunately our hands are full of stuff that needs to be made. We do have a priority list of various things, but it´s like 100 unique items. If you add several variations per item, we are already looking at over 1000 assets to be made. Randing from simple road signs, to signals, crossings, buildings, splines and trains. On top of that we also want to make a new modular script for our trains, so that we can streamline production even more without having to write everything from scratch with each asset. We dedicate a lot of time and effort for the backstage stuff to make new things come out sooner.

You may have recently noticed that we fixed some script errors on some of our train cars. We also updated the textures of our roads. Those were some minor things to get our mind off the big stuff and get a bit of motivation to keep on going. After all a finished product brings you more joy that an unfinished one.

One of the next "smaller" things to fix is the Laaers car transporter, with it´s requirement of a payware commodity of "3DZ family car". This brings forth a "bigger" thing. We are making a new pack of modern road vehicles, which all will be very versatile. Traffic, static, nightmode and commodity versions for all of them. Buses, trucks, vans, cars - all included.

To show it off a bit.
After this, the other major projects we have going on is a Czech/Slovak class 363, 210, 242 and 240 locomotives. New models, new reskins, new scrips. These are still a bit away.
    And the CZ/SK crossings.

So, lot´s of work to do, on top of our jobs and universities. That´s why progress is so slow. We also spend time getting to know people and obtaining legal access to roundhouses and sheds around Slovakia and Czechia, so that we can recreate the locomotives and traincars as faithfully as possible.

Another thing I want to point out is that 2 years ago when we went ahead with another rework of CEM and the German expansion, the original plan was for several people to work on different countries. We had a plan for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. After we counted out the assets, we realised Germany was the only viable option to build, because from other countries we lacked basically everything. So we very quickly had to change our approach to the whole project. It was maybe a week in when we scrapped the other countries. But the plan for Germany remained unchanged, and as such the layout now reflects that, with all the possible outside connections. Maybe in the future we will expand, but we firstly need to finish the current plans.

    Hallo Slovak_Eagle,

It smells beautifully like the 60s and 70s ! :upside_down_face:
