Due to popular demand, here are some screenshots from Poland. As stated previously, Germany and rest of CEM will look like this eventually, we just want to get the base of the route finished before detailing it all. Also, there will be a new electrified single-track line in Czechia and Slovakia.

How about the Warszawska Wystawa Makiet???

At that point why not "Království Železnic" in Czechia?

The special thing is not going to be a model railway. That is all I will say, as this is the one part of Germany that I want to keep top secret and leave for people to discover on their own. It´s a very special thing to the members of our team.

    Who's catenary??

Catenary will be done later when we decide which tracks should be electrified and which ones not. It also depends on if we decide that this area was in "East Germany". This will decide if the catenary is green or white with stripe - yes we are going into these details too. We have an early track layout plan already, but I won´t show off anything until it is finalised.

    Northern Germany, presenting "Gutshaven"!

This city is part of an older project of mine. I have decided to reuse this part of the city, as it has the correct orientation, size and an interesting layout. We do not have a concrete plan of how to connect this city to the rest of CEM Germany yet, but the placement of it is final. Some parts of the city will need to be changed, to fit closer in style to CEM. In the meantime, enjoy the current look of the city and it´s station and harbour.

Actually, let me tell you how Niederburg came to be!

Originally, we wanted a big town, inspired by Hamburg and Berlin. When I started building the city, I quickly realised that it can not be a "blob" on the route. It would be too big. We still wanted a driveable Ubahn on the route, but only if the performance around the mainline network wasn´t too bad. If the performance was bad, the Ubahn would be cut to AI only. As you can see, the Ubahn right now is fully driveable, so I got something right! The performance is not the best, I admit, but a lot better than other big cities on the route (a problem we will adress too). As the performance questions rose up, I decided to change the idea of Niederburg. Instead of it being a round "blob" on the route, I went for Wuppertal as inspiration, minus the Schwebebahn. A narrow river valley. This kept the width of the city in check, and allowed me to make it long instead. This also meant that I can keep the Ubahn relatively close to the mainline network, and therefore not have to do a lot of performance draining details all around the city. The way the Ubahn is built, is that it can be "turned off" to save on performance, and the mainline network will get a simillar treatment. This will be mostly utilised in scripted sessions.

Furthermore, I had an unexpected problem with the "popping in" of objects. CEM is artificially limiting the drawing distance to 3000m. We have increased this to 3500m now because of Niederburg. In the attached screenshot is the reason why this change was made.
The castle on the hill next to the station, a very visible landmark of the city, "pops in" (the objects load as they enter the drawing distance), as you enter Niederburg. This particular stretch of tracks now bears the nickname "Castle Approach".

After this was done, I thought "uff, got that sorted". Boy was I wrong. What I did not realised, is that the other mainline from North has an even clearer view of the castle, as per picture below.

But, I solved this one easily by using the highway bridge to break the line of sight. So, why did I do all this? Normally I wouldn´t care about the "pop-in" and you can still see it in external camera. All this work was basically done to keep the immersion of the inside, cab camera view intact. A fun little challenge, but the outcome is awesome.

Anyways, it is time to tackle the harbour now, you see the initial start of this endeavour. I want to take care of the infrastructure first - roads and Ubahn. Me and the rest of the team have already decided what cargo we want in each part of the harbour. I am still contemplating adding one or two more branches to the harbour, as well as expanding the yard to accomodate more traffic, but at the same time I want to keep the size in check, as I don´t want the harbour to get too big. As for Northern Germany and the coastline, I will be able to share some screenshots soon. The first city and it´s harbour is pretty much finished. We will reuse an older route of mine to start this northern expansion. However we still don´t have a concrete plan on track layout, so northern coast will have to wait a bit.

Looks great, I love the work you guys do! But, I would say maybe those two stops on the U-Bahn is a bit to close, aren't they?

    Thank You!

Yes, I agree. The stops are really close together. The harbour was always planned to have 2 stations for the Ubahn. When I started building, I realised that the original positions would not be a good place to build the stations at. It would put one station half into a tunnel, and the other entirely on a bridge over the storage yard. I decided to move them slightly, as a result cutting about 150-200 meters of tracks. They are now in a more logical location, but really close together.

Since the Ubahn is inspired by the Frankfurt Ubahn, I have decided to take some "creative liberties" and make it more of a tram rather than metro in certain locations.

Work has begun on the harbour of Niederburg, appropriately named - Europahafen.
This will be one of the 2 harbours in Germany, and one of the 4 harbours in total of CEM3.0.

In the attached picture, you can see that the highway has been put in place, along with it´s connections, thought the ones on top of the screenshot are not in final position. The Ubahn is in place as well, however the bridge and tunnel for it to reach other parts of the city is not finished yet. The intersection in the middle still lacks some markings. I pretty much started building this area yesterday.
