Back in my early Trainz days I had a favourite route, the Black Forest.
In that route were many buildings which I really liked, they were made for v1.3 but today they look outdated.
So....I decided to do some renovation work on them, I've brought them into v3.5 and used the original meshes with photo textures and my own textures.
This project began to grow and grow as I searched for older buildings that I could upgrade, plus a few more that I thought I could use in my next Marklin type model railway route.
Reskinning old meshes is not for the faint hearted, many times random textures woul appear in places that were just not right, many times I had windows appear on the sides of chimneys!
Then there is the updating of the config files, another challenge to overcome.
PEV tools are a must when doing this sort of work too.
I have really enjoyed doing this project and now it's time for you to enjoy the updates as well.
Please bear in mind that these are old meshes and are low poly, no normal/bump maps or PBR textures are used.
There are over 100 buildings to come, here is the first batch of old stations...
They are all on the DLS and in your CM now.
In meinen frühen Trainzer Tagen hatte ich eine Lieblingsroute, den Schwarzwald.
In dieser Route befanden sich viele Gebäude, die mir sehr gut gefallen haben. Sie wurden für Version 1.3 erstellt, aber heute sehen sie veraltet aus.
Also ... habe ich beschlossen, sie zu renovieren. Ich habe sie in Version 3.5 importiert und die ursprünglichen Maschen mit Fototexturen und meinen eigenen Texturen verwendet.
Dieses Projekt begann zu wachsen und zu wachsen, als ich nach älteren Gebäuden suchte, die ich aufrüsten und ein paar mehr, die ich für meine nächste Modelleisenbahnstrecke vom Typ Märklin verwenden wollte.
Das Wiederenthäuten alter Maschen ist nichts für schwache Nerven. Oft tauchen zufällige Texturen an Stellen auf, die einfach nicht richtig waren. Oft hatte ich Fenster an den Seiten von Kaminen!
Dann gibt es die Aktualisierung der Konfigurationsdateien, eine weitere Herausforderung, die es zu bewältigen gilt.
Auch bei solchen Arbeiten sind PEV-Werkzeuge ein Muss.
Ich habe dieses Projekt wirklich genossen und jetzt ist es Zeit für Sie, auch die Updates zu genießen.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass es sich um alte Maschen handelt und es sich um Low-Poly-Maschen handelt. Es werden keine normalen / Relief-Maps oder PBR-Texturen verwendet.

I don't use Discord and I feel that myself and probably other members are missing out on general chat, images, video and info.
If something is written in the forum it stays there for all to see and refer back to.
How long are the posts kept for in the Discord Shout Box?
I use a business forum that has a thread called "The Kitchen Table" where members have a chat with each other, but the posts remain there for all to see.
Being a foreigner and non-German-speaker I use ImTranslator to translate posts into English (or many other languages) and find 'Instant Chat' impossible.
I dislike Social Media (Facepuke Etc) and prefer to call it 'Anti-Social Media'.
