The preview stream by Sharadise will happen tonight at 9pm CEST on Twitch!

Please keep in mind however that he is playing on MAC version of the game and his game has problem with some of the PBR assets, as their texture files can not be recognised and unpacked, as such, please excuse the missing Catenary and Houses on this stream. The catenary and houses are there on PC.

Alright, I will try my best and get the last things done this week, hopefully release for weekend. As for preview videos and streams, those people will get the pre-fix version, however with lag optimisation in place. 5 days to go :)

Really like that idea and really looking forward playing one round of MP with you guys asap! I'm just wondering ? why do you guys use soundbarriers that much. There is such a nice background but all that can be seen when driving are walls and soundbarriers (at least in the video). I'd really love to see that station with less walls and more scenery and believe me the additional work you'd need to put into this will turn out way (way) better!

It mostly has to do with my style of work and me wanting to save as much performance as possible while bringing as much details as I can. Having to populate big part of the town with scenery would at a certain point cause the FPS to drop. Even now, with as many trains as in the video, the FPS howers at 15FPS with Ultra settings and 15k drawing distance on high-end PCs. As such there will probably be some drawing distance limitations to the route and quick optimizations done before release (mostly with the forests). Walled off towns are only the ones at the mainline and modernised part of branchlines in Slovakia. Majority of towns in other countries are not walled off.
I will remove majority of the walls in Slovakia sometime after the release, mainly at the branchline.

There are still little things like this to pick out and figure out, but we want to finish the route already and make this route look good even with walls. It´s not that big of a problem as it is only the biggest towns which in the end will have the walls, maybe, unless I decide to remove those too..

Also they are there because I spent over a week on that station alone and then had to rush the rest of the parts to get them done in reasonable amount of time :grinning_squinting_face: :grinning_squinting_face: :grinning_squinting_face:

    Thank You!

    Main motivations were pretty much:

    1. Finally something set in our home region for multiplayer.
    2. We were tired of playing German and American maps. And the Italian one is not good.
    3. Some of us wanted to create certain regions for ages, some of us wanted to create certain locomotives for ages.
    4. Strong support from all the people around helped us a lot.

Though I have to admit I noticed our focus on the route decline since the beginning of 2021 a little too much for comfort. However I would still like to keep the promises we put up and even if some people from our team leave in the future, I myself don´t want to give up and I want to finish at least the mainlines of the European countries our route spans across.

One thing that keeps me on edge the however, is the route size. It has gotten too big for multiplayer to work. On top of that the loading time is awfully long even on high-end computers. Obviously splitting it into smaller parts would be an option, but it´s something I don´t really want to do.

I am not saying this is the end of CEP, we are nowhere close to that. I just want to say that things will probably go slower and we won´t get V1.0 by 1.1.2022.

No members are wanting to leave as of now, but some of them at least plan to stop working on the route and focus more on other things like locomotives, traincars, scripts or other payware projects after CE:Mini is finished. After CE:Mini, even I will probably create a highspeed fictional route and then get back to CEP.

Non-stop work in same theme for 3 years takes a toll and we want to keep going, but a vacation is needed :grinning_squinting_face:

I tried to explain it as best as I can. I hope you guys understand :grinning_squinting_face: :grinning_squinting_face: :grinning_squinting_face: This is not the end, don´t worry :grinning_squinting_face:
Just wanted to clarify few things and give you guys insight as to what is going on from my observation.

    Central Europe : Mini Update

At the current pace, I am expecting the full release of CE:Mini sometime in the first week of August, maybe with luck late July. Some portions of CE:Mini could be released separately over the next week.

    Route:

    - Slovakia is at final stretch of completion. Scenerywise towns and grass are the only two things remaining. Trackwise signals and junctions on the last section are still to be placed.
    - Czechia is completed.
    - Poland is close to being completed. Last section is still not placed, but is in development.

    - Country connections will be last to finish and shouldn´t take too long. Slovakia and Czechia are already connected at the mainline.

    Sessions:

    - Basic MP session will be available at route release.
    - Complex MP session (with AI trains) will take longer time to finish, to make sure AI trains won´t get stuck and to make sure they do not interfere with player operations. Idiot-proofing the AI will be hard task and require a lot of complex rules and set-ups, this could take up to one week on itself. The complex session will undergo intesive testing, and if it proves good, it will most likely replace the basic session.
    - Singleplayer session will be appearing too, but not as much as on main CE route.

    Special:
    - Showcase (promotional) session will be handed to some people before the route releases. These people are Sharadise , Jani_VM14 and me. I know Jani_VM14 will most likely produce more videos, which I of course allow. This promotional session will be available upon route release as well.

As for the route, we are also preparing a map which will be available as an object placed on the route, marking loading and unloading points. This part will be handled by Swedar and yuz6099.

Thank You for your support and patience.

Hello! Today we have decided to reveal Central Europe Project - Mini!

    What is CEP Mini?

CEP Mini is a small, fully fictional route based on Central Europe and set only in 3 countries - Poland, Czechia and Slovakia.

If you have followed the project closely (or tried it yourself), you know that running multiplayer on the main layout is not possible due to the amount of details. The game has trouble loading different areas of the route. CEP Mini is here to eliminate that.

If you have followed the project since the beggining, you know that original CEP plans weren´t 600 kilometers long. Instead, original CEP plan was to be fully fictional representation of Slovakia, Czechia and Germany. However due to our German team member loosing motivation and the rest of the team now going more realistic, we enden up changing all the original ideas.

CEP Mini takes the original idea of small layout spread across 3 countries. The idea is simple. 25 kilometers of tracks per country on 100 baseboards organised in square or rectangle.

The route is made of outside and inside.

Outside is an electrified mainline connecting all 3 countries in a loop. To make it more challenging and allow the use of all electric engines, the electric system changes. Slovakia and Czechia are connected with 25kV AC and Slovakia with Czechia are connected to Poland with 3kV DC.

Inside is made a diesel branchline. This provides secondary connections to all countries in the middle of the route.

The route has various industries spread across the 3 countries. The industry chain often passes the border.

This little idea has been in development for around 3 weeks now and is slowly coming along, with main stations of each country being finished already. We are now moving towards the rural areas with many more industries.

So, let´s take a look at the main stations.

    Poland:

    Czechia:

    Slovakia:

Now as stated before, CEP Mini is meant for multiplayer purposes. The route is not heavy on performance and despite the detail, handles very well.

Obviously, this pauses progress on CEP in certain regions for a while. But as some of the route builders have been slowly draining their creativity over the last 3 years, doing something a little bit different is helping us to regain motivation and power to work on the main layout.

I myself have been focusing more on sessions for the main CEP. This and the inability of the game to handle the route in multiplayer is begging the question of using CEP only for SIngleplayer scripted sessions, while CEP Mini for multiplayer. However I already know that despite this, I will release both singleplayer and multiplayer sessions for both routes.

Thank You for the support! Have a wonderful weekend!

Since nobody else answered, might as well do so as I understand the language and could be considered "local" :grinning_squinting_face:

    Jindřichohradecké Místní Dráhy (JHMD)

Narrow gauge rail line in Southern Czechia, starting in town of Jindřichův Hradec with lines going to Obrataň and Nová Bystřice. This picture has been taken directly in JIndřichův Hradec and is looking East. This is the South part of the station with narrow gauge lines, while standard gauge line is to the left of the picture (North part of station). Thick trees on the right are blocking the view to the surrounding office building and bus/truck parking. The line goes out East merging with the standard gauge into dual gauge line. They split again at around 1.5km (North Line) and 2km (South Line) from the merge point at the station.
