Hommage a Mick

An afternoon freight carrying pork sides from Ølby Lyng Andelsslagteri passes the Pløresødal halt on its way to Svanbjerg for handover to the night meat train heading for Esbjerg and from there over the North Sea to bacon hungry people in the United Kingdom. Mick's lovely houses add the last ingredient to this quitessential Danish setting.

The scene is part of a never ending project of mine depecting a ficitional nationalised private line connecting the fictional provincial towns Svanbjerg and Ølby Lyng. Strictly speaking Ølby Lyng is an existing town, but it is not connected to any railway lines. All the names on this route are either from TV series or from the Danish comedy duo Monrad & Rislund's sketches with a few other names sprinkled in the mix.

Mick's Bedre Byggeskik houses fit perfectly here as homes for people employed at the nearby Pløresødal barracks. But can be used in an suburban setting all over Denmark as well.
